Abstract
Callus was derived from the seedling of Agastache rugosa (Labiatae). The growth rate of callus and the production of essential oil were studied with the variation of culture condition. The essential oil fraction of Agastache rugosa and the imported drugs were analysed by TLC and gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. The results of experiment were obtained as follow. 1. 2 ppm of NAA was more effective for the growth of callus than 2 ppm of 2,4-D. 2. 2,4-D 2 ppm in the medium was more effective for the production of essential oil than NAA 2 ppm. 3. The growth rate of callus was inhibited by the illumination of the light. 4. The essential oils from Agastache rugosa, the imported dried drugs and the cultivated callus showed different compositions.
